I have already talked about do you know what you really want in life?
Once you know what you want what comes next?
Have you ever had a dream, a goal or a deadline that was very clear and you really wanted it? You were committed to succeeding, but you still didn’t take the action. Why do you think that happens? Could it be that you need to move from excuses to solutions?
There are some people that will go through their whole life blaming other circumstances for the results they are experiencing and will continuously have excuses for why things have not worked.
Getting up early to exercise is quite a challenge for me and boy can I make excuses. It’s too cold, it’s still dark, my time would be better used elsewhere and I will do it later. All these excuses DON’T make me feel good, healthy and happy. Instead I feel like I failed and I feel guilty. This is not a great way to start the day.
Have you noticed others and their excuses? People that talk a lot about what they are going to do when the weather changes, when they have more time, when they pay the mortgage, when the economy improves.
What they are really saying is they are not accountable; they are not responsible for their lack of results nor are they responsible for the solutions.
Here’s a truth I’d like you to consider! Making excuses makes you POWERLESS to change your circumstances.
Give it a go, open your mind and listen to your own excuses because you must first become aware of your behaviour before you can own it.
Try this one on and notice your reactions.
You are responsible for every result you experience. In other words you are responsible for everything that happens in your world.
This sentence can definitely push some buttons, but think about it for a moment.
It’s just a belief and what is a belief, but a convenient assumption. The important question here is;
What is most resourceful, what will serve you in attaining the results you want?
Think about it.
How would it be if you where the person responsible for the results you experience?
How would it be if you where the person responsible for finding the solutions?
How would that impact your life? Is it more empowering to make excuses and avoid responsibility? Or is it more empowering to be responsible and find solutions?
I know what side I choose.
